Privacy Policy — Trade Counselor

This is the straightforward version of our privacy policy. No walls of legalese — just who we are, what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Trade Counselor is a trade journaling application for active day traders, built and operated by Trade Counselor LLC, 215 Central Ave Apt 3A, St Petersburg, FL 33701, United States. You can reach us anytime at support@tradecounselor.com.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we store your email address for authentication and account communication.
Journal data. When you use the app, we store the trade journal data you enter — trade descriptions, tags, performance figures, and timestamps.
Phone number (optional). If you enable the optional SMS Copilot feature, we also store the phone number you link and verify.

We do not collect data from third-party brokers, data vendors, or advertisers about you, and we do not use advertising trackers.

How we use your phone number

If you link your phone number for SMS Copilot, it's used for one thing only: responding to the text messages you send about your own trade journal. We never call you, we never text you unless you text us first (apart from a one-time welcome message confirming your opt-in), and we never share your phone number with third parties. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your conversations — you're always the one initiating.

We do not share, sell, or distribute your phone number or mobile opt-in data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to our number or unlinking your phone in your account settings. Text HELP for support. See the full SMS Terms of Service and our public SMS opt-in documentation.

How your data is processed

AI processing, not AI training. When you describe a trade, your text is sent to AI language models to structure it into your journal and generate insights for you. These inputs are processed and returned — they are never used to train any models, and each provider is bound by data handling agreements that protect your information.

Encryption. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).

We never sell or share your data

Your trade data, strategies, phone number, mobile opt-in data, conversations, and personal information are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or any other purpose. Our business model is subscriptions — your data is not our product.

Your control over your data

Export everything. You can download your full journal history in a standard format at any time. You're never locked in.
Delete everything. You can delete your account at any time. When you do, everything goes — your profile, trade history, conversation logs, phone number, and analysis results. Not archived. Not retained for 90 days. Deleted.
